SMS Template Registeration on TRAI DLT Platform Guide

As per Govt of India TRAI’s DLT Process, From now onwards SMS Content Template Registration is must on any of the DLT Platform.

All SMS Templates need to be registered on DLT Portal first and then only you can send SMS from the SMS Panel. As per TRAI it is been done to reduce Spam or Fraud SMS flow to consumers.

It takes around 3-5 Business days on DLT Platform to get your SMS Template approved

Details about Dynamic Data in SMS :

There is provision of sending Dynamic Data in SMS i.e data which changes as per different scenario.

Example,

1. Dear Customer, We have received payment of {#var#} on date {#var#} through {#var#}. Thank you

2 Dear Customer, Your due amount is {#var#} till {#var#}. Please pay soon. Thank you

TRAI DLT TEMPLATE REGISTRATION STEP BY STEP GUIDE SMARTPING

Step 1 : Open Smartping Website

Step 2 : Select the type of operation As Entity

Click on Next Button.

Step 3 : Login into the Panel

Kindly Enter Email & Password. Click on Login Button .

Step 4 : Select the option to get the OTP.

Click on Both option.

Step 5 : Enter OTP received on Registered Mobile No.

Step 6 : Click on Template Menu.

Step 7 : Click on Add New Template.

Step 8 : Enter below details in the form.

1. Template Name : Name of SMS example Payment reminder, Thank you sms, Birthday SMS, Festival wish sms etc

2. Communication Type : SMS

3. Template Type : Service Implicit

4. Template Category : Your Business Category

5. Header Associate : Select all your Header

In Content box : Type your SMS Text. For Dynamic Value or value which will change type {#var#}.

IMPORTANT : Your Company Name must always be there in SMS Content. {#var#} = Each var contains 30-35 Characters Max.

Do’s :- To create a Template in the Regional language; please use "Copy/Paste Message option."

Don'ts :- Once the variable(s) entered, it should not be modified manually in the message box. If modified, it will not be considered as variable anymore.

While creating the Content of Template (Both Copy paste and Create New Message option)-It is mandatory to mention the Brand Name (Complete Business Name/Brand Name/Trademark) in the content field.

Step 9 : Click on Submit & then Confirm

This way you Register your SMS Template in DLT Platform Smartping.

Step 10: To check the status of SMS Template Registeration

1. Registered SMS Templates get approved within 2-3 Business Working Days as per the Smartping DLT Policy

2. You have to Login into the Smartping DLT Panel and Click on Template Menu and Check Template Status.
